Silver and cream calla lily
This card features an original linoprint of a calla lily, hand drawn, carved and printed by me using Cranfield traditional relief ink in silver on 260gsm Fabriano Medioevalis cream paper. This card measures 130x170mm and has deckled edges. It comes with a matching envelope and is blank inside for your own message.
Many of my linoprints are inspired by nature and I particularly love the ways that leaves and flowers lend themselves to the structural nature of carving lino.
Originally from South Africa, the calla lily is an elegant flower that symbolises purity and rebirth, making it perfect for wedding celebrations and memorials alike.
Printmaking with lino is a manual craft that requires specialist tools and inks. The nature of the process means that each card is slightly different and may feature some speckling in the ink. This is particularly true of this type of textured paper and is part of what makes this artform so beautiful. Please note there may be slight variations from the card in the photo.
I will post it in a compostable sleeve and board-backed envelope to protect it.
