Rudolph and his red nose card
One of the first Christmas songs I ever remember learning was Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and when I first started making linoprints he was an obvious choice for a Christmas card. Since then he has remained one of my most popular designs and, so, is back for another year!
This is an A6 card made from GF Smith Colorplan Cool Grey and features an original linocut print of Rudolph, hand drawn, carved and printed by me using Ironbridge Fine Arts relief black-blue ink and a big, bright nose made of a bespoke red that I mixed using their relief process colours. The card comes with a matching envelope and is blank inside for your own message.
I will post your card in a compostable sleeve and board-backed envelope to protect it.
Printmaking with lino is a manual craft that requires specialist tools and inks.
The nature of the process means that each card is slightly different and may feature some speckling in the ink. It is part of what makes this artform so beautiful. Please note there may be slight variations from the card in the photo.
